Alexander Randolph is a financial services firm which specializes in
comprehensive wealth management, investment management, employee
benefits, accounting services and tax consulting and preparation. We

the quality of services rendered and the genuine concern we have for the
well being of our clients.

service and superior technical expertise. Below is a brief biography of each member of
our senior professional staff.
GARY W. SCHLAFFER: Principal, manages our investment and wealth management
operations and is the chairperson of our investment management committee. After entering the investment
management profession in 1986, Gary held senior positions in two other investment advisory firms prior
to joining Alexander Randolph in 1993. Gary holds a BS degree in Business Administration and an MS
degree in Finance and has taught investment analysis, portfolio management and corporate finance at a
number of universities.
ROBERT A. KRUEGER, CPA: Principal, manages our accounting and tax operations and is a member of our investment management committee.
After entering the accounting profession in 1986, Rob spent seven years at KPMG Peat Marwick and owned an independent tax and accounting practice for five years prior to joining Alexander Randolph in 2000.
Rob holds a BS degree in Health Care Administration, an MBA in Finance and Accounting and obtained his CPA license in 1987.
EMILY M. CHIANG, CFP: Principal, is a member of our investment management committee and is responsible for providing investment and wealth management services for many of our clients.
Emily has been in the financial services industry since 1987 with experience in banking, financial planning and investment management prior to joining Alexander Randolph in 1994.
Emily holds a BS degree in Business Management, an MBA degree with a concentration in Finance, is a Certified Financial Planner and has served on the board of the Northern Virginia Society of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners.
MATTHEW D. SHRIVER, CFA, CFP: Principal, is a member of our investment
management committee and is responsible for conducting the proprietary research on many of the
investments we purchase and hold in client accounts. Matt has been in the financial services industry
since 1991 holding various positions at Charles Schwab & Co, Calvert Securities and Smith Barney
Shearson prior to joining Alexander Randolph in 2002. Matt holds BBA degrees in both Finance and
Accounting and is a Chartered Financial Analyst and Certified Financial Planner.
GAIL SUTHERLAND: Principal, account manager for our employee benefits
and insurance clients. Gail has been working in the insurance industry since 1992
with a concentration on employee benefits for small to medium size companies. Gail
completed her Master Class Certification in Long Term Care (CLTC) in April 2004.
She holds a BA in Education.
WALTER A. HILL: Principal, is one of the founders of Alexander Randolph and manages our employee benefits operation. Walter has more than 35 years of experience in the employee benefits and health care delivery systems industries holding senior hospital administration positions with Hospital Corporation of America and Children’s Hospital prior to entering the employee benefits business in 1988. Walter holds both a BS degree and an MS degree in Microbiology.
MICHELLE ROTH: Employee Benefits Specialist, is an account manager for many
of our employee benefits and insurance clients. Michelle has been working in the insurance industry
since 1996 and holds a BS degree in Psychology.
